Nike+ FuelBand
Nike may have picked up where Jawbone UP were disappointing by introducing a new device that won’t be available until May 2012. FuelBand is bangle/watch device worn on the wrist and through the device’s three-axis accelerometer, it captures all forms physical activity via body motions. The metrics: time, calorie and steps are then analysed to register a NikeFuel score.
The FuelBand has a simple interface that motivates the wearer to increase physical performance and attain a set target each day. All of the information gained is then synced with Nike+ through USB (to computer) or via Bluetooth to the free iPhone app for an impressive mobile/web experience .
The Nike+ FuelBand is available for pre-order at nikestore.com for $149 (UK-version price/availability TBC)

After all of the training runs, healthy eating, sore legs, and new running gear, I am one of less than 1% of the people in the world who have completed a marathon. This weekend was so surreal—I was able to get away from Tucson, gaze at the…

#MAKEITCOUNT Mark Cavendish.
His speed is nothing short of exciting and I’m looking forward to watching him win this year at the road race and with Great Britain’s Team Sky.
Also, great gurning there, Cav.

Serendipity: Running in the Snow & Rain

love-in-a-mist:

I have a confession, I am terrified of running in the snow and rain. What if I slip on ice I don’t see or step in a puddle that is deeper than I thought and end up twisting my ankle or something worse. I know I should quit with the “what if” scenarios, but I cannot help it, I just get a little…
